George Simkins

PRESIDENT & FOUNDER

I was never sure what I wanted to do when I grew up. But in my first year of college I took a production class and sat in the director's chair and realized this could be it. The energy, coordination, flow and motion all pulling toward a shared outcome was intoxicating. All this to fulfill one person's vision.

What I didn’t expect but came to realize was how that vision changes the moment you try to communicate it. You explain what you see, the crew responds with what they understand, and suddenly everyone has a piece of the creative. As a director your original idea grows in the hands of others. It is still yours, but it becomes theirs too. It becomes something more. It shifts and you shift with it. And now you are not fanning the flames as much as keeping them aligned.

Touch that for the first time and you are hooked. There is no going back.

Creativity in motion would define the rest of my life.
